Principal Consultant - Biography
Marc White is Principal Consultant for Goanna Energy Consulting Pty Ltd. Marc has enjoyed a career in the Australian energy industry spanning over 27 years. Over the past two years Marc has presented numerous contestable energy market education workshops, assisting well over 200 local businesses to confidently enter the Tasmanian deregulated electricity market.
Prior to his current role helping Tasmanian end use customers save money, Marc dedicated over 12 years to preparing once monopoly energy businesses for the challenges of retail competition, privatization and sometimes both.
Marc was previously Manager National Sales for Aurora Energy during the first rounds of Tasmanian energy deregulation and Aurora’s entry into the National Electricity Market. Prior to this Marc was Manager Wholesale, South Australia for Origin Energy during deregulation of South Australia’s Natural Gas market.
Marc also worked for Powercor Australia Ltd for seven years, in various management capacities including Victorian Sales Manager, Manager Customer Operations and Industrial Segment Manager Marketing. Seeing Australia’s first round of electricity deregulation from concept through to Full Retail Contestability and traversing four company sales in the process.
Prior to joining Powercor, Marc worked for the State Electricity Commission of Victoria for 11 years, commencing in 1983 as an Apprentice Linesman in Geelong. Positions he held over that time moved him around the state and included, Technical Officer, Operations & Services Manager, Distribution Manager and Regional Marketing Manager.
Marc is currently completing his Mt Eliza Executive MBA through Melbourne Business School Mt Eliza. Melbourne Business School.
Marc is also an Active Qualified Surf Lifesaver at Clifton Beach SLSC and student of Noel Peters Shihan (5th Dan), IGK Karate, Hobart College, Mt Nelson Dojo of International Goju Karate-do Tasmania.
