For the hundred or so Tasmanian "First round Tranche 4 " users (>0.15GWh pa) who have not yet entered into an electricity supply contract, the Grace Period has now expired. From 1 July 2010 these "un-contracted" sites are now taking supply under the revised "Deemed Fallback Contract". The Regulator has approved a 15 per cent gross margin on top of the current business tariff energy rate for the Deemed Fallback Contract. This translates to a revised specified "energy only" rate of 8.586 ¢/kWh, which does not include network delivery costs, loss factors, market fees or metering charges.
For the 150 "Second Round" Tranche 4 customers, contract supply can commence immediately or up until 1 July 2011, after which these users face the costly Deemed Fallback Contract, explained above.

Whilst several new energy retailers have been granted Retail Electricity Licenses’, customer experiences and their outcomes have varied markedly.
